Ayman Bin Baha Uddin Al-Siraj
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 54 | Size: 1 MB

My need of knowing who created me , the aim of my existence, and where I am going to go is much more important than my need of food. Actually, having no food leads to death, and death will happen one day inevitably, but if there is a retribution after the death and I was not on the right path, I will lose Paradise and receive the punishment of the Creator.

Is there a Creator For This World?

The natural common sense (Fetrah) is the strongest evidence of the Creator’s existence . Allah the Al Mighty says: ((So set you (O Muhammad Peace be upon him) your face towards the religion (of pure Islâmic Monotheism) Hanîf (worship none but Allâh Alone). Allâh’s Fitrah (i.e. Allâh’s Islâmic Monotheism) with which He has created mankind. …)) Sûrat Ar-Rûm (The Romans) 30

This truth ,which all people agree on ,does not need any proof , because generally humankind agrees on the existence of the Creator who controls this universe. In fact, all people agree on the Creator’s existence except few of them. Here are some of the evidences that prove the Creator’s existence of this wide perfect universe.

First, the measurement of this universe cannot be described. The distance from the moon to the earth is 384,000 kilometers and the light of the moon reaches the earth in less than two seconds. Moreover, the galaxy is about 90,000 light-years across. Every light year is 10 trillion kilometers. This means that the measurement of our galaxy is 900,000 trillion Kilometers. Furthermore, there are millions of galaxies and stars far in the discovered space which need milliards of light years , so how much is this distance? and how much is the distance of the unknown space? In addition, the size of the earth is bigger than one trillion cubic kilometers. The sun is 1,3 million times the size of the earth. The volume of VY Canis Majoris is 9 billion times that of the sun . The volume of Andromeda is 1000 milliard milliard times that of sun.

So, who created this universe with its sky, earth , human beings, animals, and plants? Has it been found without a founder? Nothingness can find nothing because it is nothing! Or has this universe found itself by itself? If it has created itself , then it must had been there before it had created itself.

This is false because how can the doer be the object, and the Influential can be the effect, and the causative can be the cause? So, if it was there before its creation, how can it create? Allah the Al Mighty says: “Were they created by nothing? Or were they themselves the creators?” Sûrat At-Tûr (The Mount)35

Therefore, there must be a creator for the existence of the universe. Is it the Nature as some say? But the Nature is a part of the world and the world has not created itself, So how can this part create itself? Who created the nature? Why this nature cannot create any more as it has created itself in the past? How can nature gives the creatures the ability of reproduction controls this process ? If there is no control over the propagation , the locust , for example , will eat all the green plants on the earth during few years! If the universe has been created by chance , why does the system of this universe is still steady and has no mess and disorders? Moreover, is nature blind -as some say- and it creates mindlessly and randomly so, one who has nothing can give nothing. Who has no apple cannot give you an apple unless he got it. So , how can the nature grants human beings the mind while it has no one?! Furthermore, how can nature lead people to follow the right naturally by the natural common sense (Fetrah)? Even if it opposes their desires? Also, if one does not follow the right , his conscience scolds him _unless a bad change acquired to his natural common sense (Fetrah)_So how can this happen? If it has been said that the social habits leads people to grow up on good morals which leads them to blame themselves . Therefore, why did the society choose this habit if the morality is not a natural common sense (Fetrah)? So, who created this morality?? Does nature has any morals?

Is this fine, well-organized and systematic universe exists by chance as some have said? The chance is possible in some cases and impossible in others. Here is an example which is an evidence against the myth of the existence of this universe by chance, it is huge increase in the number of creators . For example, take ten papers , write a series numbers on each one from one to ten, put them in a box, and shake it well. Then , try to pick them from the box serially from one to ten without looking at them. The chance of picking the number one firstly is 1 to 10, the chance of picking the number one then the number two sequentially is 1 to 100 , and the chance of picking number one to number ten serially is 1 to 10,000,000. That means there is only one chance for a correct choice among 10,000,000 wrong times. This is to coordinate only ten numbers. What about the coordination of this perfect universe?

If the earth was smaller, its gravity would be less and it would not hold water and air in it as in the case with the moon. In contrast, if the size of earth is bigger, the gravity will increase and the life on the earth will be impossible. So, who determine this size of the earth? Is it the chance? If the earth is closer to the sun, it will be burned , and if the earth is farther, it will be frozen. Is it the chance which assign this perfect distance?

Moreover, the earth rotates around its axis at a rate of 1000 miles per hour. If it rotates at a rate of 100 miles per hour, the length of the day and the night will increase 10 times more than its currently length. Also, as a result, the plants will burn during the day and freeze at night. In contrast, if the rotation of the Earth about its axis increases up to 10,000 miles per hour, the length of the day and the night will be the tenth of its currently length.

If the thickness of the earth’s atmosphere is thinner than its currently thickness, the meteors will penetrate the earth’s outer sphere daily and they will fall down on the earth and will burn it. In contrast, if the thickness of the earth atmosphere is thicker than it is, the rays ,which animals and plants depend on and which kills the bacteria and produces vitamins, will disturb . In addition, If the sun shines with half of its currently light, we will freeze . In contrast, if it shines with more than half of its current light, we will be dust.

Moreover, the percentage of the oxygen in the air is 21%. If this percentage changes to 50%, all flammable materials in the world will become susceptible to ignition with the first spark of lighting. Similarly, if the percentage of the oxygen in the air reduces to 8%, many features of civilization which was discovered by man would not be possible such as fire. Regarding to animal and plants life , look at this amazing relationship between the oxygen and the carbon dioxide. Animals breath oxygen and breath out the carbon dioxide that plants need in order to live while the plants give the animals the oxygen. If this exchange does not exist, the animals use oxygen thus, man and animals will die and vice versa.

The reproduction of man is based on the existence of the sperm in the male and the ovum in the female. Then, the fetus is produced as a result of their union. Hence, why do female has an ovum and the male has a sperm? And why do they haven’t the same thing , why each one is vital to one other?

Moreover, the fetus has eyes before its exit from the womb although it does not need them inside the womb, but it is going to need them when it goes out of the womb. Also, the fetus has the hearing ability although it does not need it inside his mother’s womb. When a fetus is in a womb, the teeth have their roots. Besides that the fetus is provided with a respiratory system to use after his exit from the womb. This show that the creator of this fetus knows that he will go out of this womb to another world where he needs these organs and that why He provides him with them.

If it has been said that who has made the spacecraft and has designed the astronauts’ outfit is someone who had never been taught or knew nothing about knowledge, we won’t believe that, because he must has a data about the space ,temperature degrees, pressure, and etc… As well, the one who had created this fetus surely knows that it will go out from this womb to another environment where he will need these organs . That is why He provides him with them . It is not the chance , but He is Allah (God) the Creator , the Omniscient.

In Addition, the human body consists of cells where each one weighs part of a billionth of a gram. Each cell includes a nucleus which includes foreign bodies including chromosomes carrying the genes from parents to children and grandchildren.

Where are the genes in a cell that cannot be seen with a naked eye? How do the instructions transport? Who does issue them to specify the color of hair, eyes, height, facial features , the way he walks , mood, bones, muscles, fingers, nails, and the genetic diseases…etc There is no doubt that cells are forced to change their shape and nature to fore full the needs of the creature. Some of cells are for flesh , some are for skin, some are part of the formation of the right ear or the left ear, and so on.

Hundreds of thousands cells look like they are been pushed to do the right thing at the right time in the right place. The truth is that cells are obedient. No doubt that these operations are an expression of the divine power. Human body includes 50 trillion cells. Each cell contains 46 chromosomes. Each chromosome contains more than fifty thousand genes. The number of the genes that cause the individual differences between people is” one hundred fifteen with eighteen zeros on its right (115,000,000,000,000,000,000)”.

Who is the Creator of this world ?

There is no sense in saying that this universe has existed by chance versus billions and billions of possibilities which emphasize that this universe does not exist by chance. What has been mentioned above about the series of numbers from one to ten is an example. In addition, what is the percentage of chance to write a perfect book in math by typing on a keyboard randomly by an infant? No doubt that this is impossible . What about the possibility of the existence of this universe by chance?

Here is another example about the possibility of the formation of a protein molecule by chance. Actually, each protein molecule is composed of five compounds (carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, and sulphur ). The number of atoms that make up the protein molecule is around forty thousand atoms. As of 2008, there are 117 known elements in the nature which are distributed randomly. Accordingly, the possibility of this composition between the five compounds to form only one protein molecule is one to (one with 196 zeros on the right) which is unuttered number.

All that are for the formation of one protein molecule only. Thus, how could we scientifically imagine the possibility of all biological, physiological, geological, astronomical combinations, and others in this universe by chance or without a wise and a creator? Suppose that this protein molecule has been formed by chance. Therefore, who can put the great secret in this molecule which is the spirit? Allah the Al mighty says: ((And they ask you (O Muhammad Peace be upon him) concerning the Ruh (The spirit); Say:” The Ruh (The spirit) is one of the things, the knowledge of which is only with my lord. And of knowledge , you (mankind) have been given only a little.”)) Surat Al- Isra (The Journey By Night)XVII 85 Allah the Al mighty says: (( This is the creation of Allah. So show Me that which those (whom you worship) besides Him have created. Nay, the Zalimun ( polytheists, wrongdoers and those who do not believe in the oneness of Allah) are in plain error.)) Surat Lugman (Lugman) 11 Allah the Al mighty says: (( O mankind! A similitude has been coined, so listen to it (carefully): Verily, those on whom you call besides Allah, cannot create (even) a fly, even though they combine together for the purpose. And if the fly snatches away a thing from them, they will have no power to release it from the fly. So weak are (both) the seeker and the sought.)) Surat Al Hajj (The Pilgrimage)73

All what have been mentioned above indicate that the life system is not a messy one, but in fact, it is a proposed and planned system. Also, the weak possibility of their claim is impossible. Actually , who brought the life in this living creature?

Accordingly, this universe must have a creator who has a great power that enable Him to create this universe . Moreover, He must has knowledge , wisdom, and life. Also, He exists without any need of any one. He is the Creator and He is a Single God.

If there were two Gods of the universe , they must be both a live , able, knowing , willing and able to choose. The two who are able to choose can choose differently, because each one is not forced to conform on the other’s choice. Hence, if one of them wants something against the other’s desire, compulsorily, one of them will achieve his desire without the other. The one who cannot achieve his desire is unable. In fact, the unable cannot be a god.

If there were more than one creator, then would be more than one god. This would lead to the imperfection of heavens and earth. Also, heavens and earth would be out of their system, because the interests would conflict, each god would want to prevail over the other, each god would want to be the one who command and forbid, each god would take away what he had created, and each would try to overcome the other!

Allah the Al Mighty says: ((Had there been therein (in the heavens and the earth) alilhah (gods) besides Allah, then verily, both would have been ruined. Glorified is Allah, the Lord of the Throne, (High is He) above all that (evil) they associate with Him!)) Al Anbiya (The Prophets) XXI ,22

Allah the Al Mighty says: (( Say (O Muhammad Peace be upon him) to these polytheists, pagans ): ” If there had been other alihah (gods) along with Him as they assert, then they would certainly have sought out a way to the Lord of the Throne (seeking His Pleasures and to be near to Him) )) Al-Isra (The Journey by Night) XVII,42

Allah the Al mighty says: (( No son (or offspring) did Allah beget, nor is there any ilah (god) along with Him. (If there had been many gods), then each god would have been taken away what he had created, and some would have tried to overcome others! Glorified is Allah above all that they attribute to Him!)) Surat Al Mu’minun (The Believers)XXIII 91

If someone says: ” I believe in the existence of the Creator and the controller of this universe, but who is the founder of this Creator?” If we agree with this, we would end up with that Allah is the founder of the world, because if something had found Him , so who would found His founder? and so on… till we conclude that there must be a founder of the universe who is Allah.

As a result, we all agree on the existing of God for this universe ,and that this God has no founder. Also, we agree on that He is characterized by the attributes of perfection whereas some of this God’s Attributes can be recognized by our minds and some cannot be recognized without Allah’s messengers who He has sent to us to explain our Creator’s Attributes and to clarify the right way of worship him.

My Lord, I Love You

My Lord, I Love You

Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 59 | Size: 1 MB

Have you ever tried in a moment of serenity to say sincerely, ‘I love you, my Lord?’ Have you ever uttered it from the bottom of your heart?

You may take this matter lightly and say, ‘What is all the fuss about? We all love Allah The Almighty, and it is very easy for us to say so.’ However, I believe that if you have ever experienced this closely, you would not say so. Claims like these are very easy to make, but the real question is: do the words truly spring from the bottom of your heart? Do you love Allah The Almighty wholeheartedly? Do you love Him in such a way that your love preoccupies you from anything other than Him?

I asked some of my brothers in Islam to enact this experiment for a week and to write down their notes while trying to urge their hearts to utter this declaration without deception or lying, and to avoid saying with their tongues what is not really in their hearts. The results were as I expected: most of them failed to utter the words, and wrote, “Whenever I tried to utter it I felt that I was a liar; I only managed to utter it sincerely once.”

Indeed, the matter requires sincerity and transparency, as well as practical application of this love.

‘Abbaad ibn Mansoor, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said, “During the lifetime of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, some people claimed that they loved Allaah The Almighty, but Allaah The Almighty wanted them to translate this claim into action. So, Allaah The Exalted Says (what means): {Say, [O Muhammad], “If you should love Allaah, then follow me, [so] Allaah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allaah is Forgiving and Merciful.} [Quran 3:31]“

Likewise, the Jews and the Christians claimed that they are the children and beloved ones of Allaah The Almighty: {But the Jews and the Christians say, “We are the children of Allaah and His beloved.”} [Quran 5:18], but Allaah The Almighty Says to them (what means): {Say, “Then why does He punish you for your sins?” Rather, you are human beings from among those He has created. He forgives whom He wills, and He punishes whom He wills.} [Quran 5:18]

In this verse, Allaah The Almighty refers to the fact that love has certain signs, including the fact that one does not punish those whom he loves. Hence, the absence of these signs means that the claim of being loved by Allaah The Almighty is false.

If you truly love Allaah The Almighty, then provide the evidence. Where is the evidence of your true love for Allaah The Almighty?

How can we claim that we love Allaah The Almighty and then disobey Him?

You may inquire, ‘Does love for Allaah The Almighty mean that one must be sinless?’

The answer is “no”. We are not infallible, because we are neither prophets nor angels, but love for Allaah The Almighty makes one repent quickly and return to his Lord constantly. Hence, when you see such a person, he would appear as if he is sinless.

Ash-Sha‘bi, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said, “If Allaah The Almighty loves a slave, his sins would not harm him.”

‘Abdul-Rahmaan ibn Zayd ibn Aslam, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said, “Allaah The Exalted may love His slave to the extent that He may say to him, ‘Go and do whatever you want, and I have forgiven it in advance.’”

The meaning is that Allaah The Exalted will guide such a slave to sincere repentance, and the acts that expiate any sins he commits, until he becomes sinless. If this were the only benefit of gaining the love of Allaah The Almighty, it would have been sufficient.

My dear brother and sister in Islam,

Do you really want to love Allaah The Almighty and to be loved by Him?

Do you really aspire to this love that will quench your thirst forever?

Are you ready to do whatever it takes to attain this great honor?

Do you want a remedy for your heart to stop committing sins and misdeeds?

Have you fallen into an unsuccessful love affair that has affected you psychologically and left unforgettable painful traces in your heart?

Do you suffer from the evil of this world and its blights and aspire to gain divine protection and care?

Do you wish to enter Paradise while you are still on earth, to taste real happiness when you find the sweetness of faith inside your heart?

If that is how you feel, then come with us on this faith-boosting journey in the gardens of the “love for Allaah”, hoping that we will be able to plant this great meaning in our hearts.

How can we not love our Lord?

My dear brother and sister in Islam,

Whenever you find that your soul is driven to sins and evades good deeds; or loves misguidance and swerves from the right path; or loves what you know angers Allaah The Exalted and neglects or even hates what Allaah The Almighty loves, then you should know that this trial is mainly caused by your ignorance about Allaah The Almighty.

That is because if you really knew Allah The Exalted, you would love Him sincerely and fear Him in a manner that befits him.

If a slave knew his Lord through His most beautiful Names and Attributes, even for a moment, he would fear Him, because He is severe in penalty. However, He would also aspire to His mercy, as He is the Beneficent, the Merciful.

However, the problem is that we do not glorify our Lord in the manner that is due to Him. Allaah The Exalted Says (what means): {They have not appraised Allaah with true appraisal. Indeed, Allaah is Powerful and Exalted in might.} [Quran 22:74]

Hence, the feet slip into sins and deviate from the right path.

Ignorance about Allaah The Almighty is the cause of all sins, because whoever disobeys Allaah The Exalted is certainly ignorant, just as whoever obeys Him is knowledgeable. This is because when one knows Allaah The Almighty and realizes His glory, pride and loftiness, he will fear and never disobey Him.

It was said, “If people had contemplated the greatness of Allaah The Almighty, they would have never disobeyed Him, because fear of Allaah The Exalted is sufficient knowledge, while underestimating the wrath of Allaah The Exalted comprises limitless ignorance.”

Is there any sweetness or delight in a sin that will cause loss and deprivation? What will benefit you if you lose your Lord? Who will compensate you if you are deprived of the mercy of your Lord that encompasses everything?

O you who knew the path of Allaah The Exalted and then deviated from it, what affliction can be graver than yours? Allaah The Exalted Says (what means): {O you who have believed, whoever of you should revert from his religion – Allaah will bring forth [in place of them] a people He will love and who will love Him} [Quran 5:54]

Every Soul Shall Taste Death

Every Soul Shall Taste Death

Shaykh Alee Hasan Abdul Hameed
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 46 | Size: 1 MB

All praise is for Allaah. We praise Him, seek His aid and ask for His forgiveness. We seek Allaah’s refuge from the evils of ourselves and from our evil actions. Whomsoever Allaah guides then none can misguide him, and whomsoever Allaah misguides then none can guide him. I testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allaah alone, having no partners, and I testify that Muhammad is His Slave and Messenger.

Before you, O Muslim, is a small treatise containing noble Aayaat of the Qur’aan, authentic sayings of the Prophet and selected Sharee’ah rulings.

Despite its small size, it comprises of that which the Muslim should know about death, the admonition it provides us with, and the encouragements and warnings related to it, as well as its effect upon the life of the Muslim.

It contains an abridgement of much of what is reported in the Book of Allaah, the One free and far removed from all defects and the Most High, and what is authentically reported from the Sunnah of Allaah’s Messenger with regard to Islamic regulations about funerals and related matters, whilst explaining the correct view where there is a difference of opinion amongst the scholars. These rulings are quoted without mentioning the evidences, discussion of the topic or quotations of the details from the books of fiqh, in order to make the book easy to read and to avoid making it lengthy.

The aim of this treatise is to make it easy to refer to the fiqh regulations concerning funerals when death occurs, which is something inevitable whether sooner or later, since it is a fact that the books written about this – being excellent but large – are difficult to refer to for the common Muslim, and even for the educated or the student of knowledge, particularly when the misfortune strikes and the hearts are preoccupied!

Finally, I ask Allaah, the Most Great, that He directs all the Muslims to the following of the Book of Allaah, He the One far removed and free from all defects, and the Sunnah of Allaah’s Messenger in all affairs in their lives, indeed He is the Hearing, and the One Who responds. And our final call is that all praise is for Allaah, Lord of the Worlds.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Say (O Muhammad SAW): “This is my way; I invite unto Allâh (i.e. to the Oneness of Allâh – Islâmic Monotheism) with sure knowledge, I and whosoever follows me (also must invite others to Allâh i.e to the Oneness of Allâh – Islâmic Monotheism with sure knowledge). And Glorified and Exalted is Allâh (above all that they associate as partners with Him). And I am not of the Mushrikûn (polytheists, pagans, idolaters and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh; those who worship others along with Allâh or set up rivals or partners to Allâh).” Soorah Yoosuf (12):108

O you who believe! Let not your properties or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allâh. And whosoever does that, then they are the losers. (9) And spend (in charity) of that with which We have provided you, before death comes to one of you and he says: “My Lord! If only You would give me respite for a little while (i.e. return to the worldly life), then I should give Sadaqah (i.e. Zakât) of my wealth , and be among the righteous [i.e. perform Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah)] and other good deeds. (10) And Allâh grants respite to none when his appointed time (death) comes. And Allâh is All-Aware of what you do. (11) Soorah al-Munaafiqoon (63): 9-11

The Messenger of Allaah said: “Remember much that which cuts off pleasures:

Death. Since no one remembers it in times of difficulty except that things are made easy for him, nor mentions it at times of ease except that the affairs become constricted for him.” Saheehul-Jaami’us-Sagheer, no.1222

What You Must Believe About Your Creator

What You Must Believe About Your Creator

Shaikh Muhammad ibn Saleh al-Uthaimeen
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 85 | Size: 3 MB

(adapted from the book, ‘Aqeedah at-Tawheed’ by Shaikh Saleh ibn Fawzan ibn Abdullah al-Fawzan)

‘Al-Aqeedah (faith)’ is what a person takes as a religion. It is said, ‘He has a good Aqeedah’ meaning,’ He is protected from doubts.’

Aqeedah is an action of the heart – which is to believe and affirm something in the heart.

“The Sharee’ah is divided into two parts; Beliefs and Actions.

(a) Beliefs are issues that are not related to how an act is performed such as belief in the Lordship of Allah, the obligation to worship Allah (alone) and belief in the other afore-mentioned pillars of Eeman (faith). These are called Asliyah – the basic foundation.

(b) The latter part consists of issues related to how actions are performed like Salaat (prayer), Zakaat (charity), Sawm (fasting) and other rulings with regards to actions. These are termed as Far’eyyah – the branches, because their soundness or corruption is based upon the beliefs.

The correct Aqeedah is thus the foundation upon which the religion is based. It is the correct Aqeedah with which the actions are set aright as the Most High said, “So, whoever hopes for the meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none as a partner in the worship of his Lord.” [Soorah al-Kahf (18): 110]

“Indeed, it has been revealed to you (O Muhammad sallallahu alaihe wa-sallam) as it was to those (Prophets) before you, ‘If you join others in worship with Allah, (then) surely (all) your deeds will be in vain, and you will certainly be among the losers.” [Soorah az-Zumar (39): 65]

“So, worship Allah (alone) by performing religious deeds sincerely for His sake. Surely, the religion is for Allah only.” [Soorah Zumar (39): 2]

These verses and numerous other narrations that have been related in this regard confirm that actions are not accepted unless they are free from Shirk (polytheism/associating partners with Allah).

It was therefore the main concern of the Messengers (alaihimus-salaam) to rectify the beliefs first.

Sole worship of Allah and abandonment of worship to anything other than Him was their primary call as the Most High says, “Verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming), ‘Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid the Taghoot (everything that is worshiped other than Allah).” [Soorah An-Nahl (16): 36]

The first issue addressed by every Prophet was, “Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (deity worthy of being worshiped) but Him.” [Soorah al-A’raf (7): 59, 65, 73, 85]

It was said by Nuh, Hood, Saleh, Suhaib (alaihimus-salaam) and all the other Prophets (alaihimus-salaam) to their nations. After being bestowed with Prophethood, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahi alaihi wa-sallam) stayed in Mecca for thirteen years calling people to Tawheed and rectifying their Aqeedah because Aqeedah is the foundation upon which the entire structure of the Deen stands.

The Duaat (callers to the religion of Allah) and those who seek to guide others during every age followed the example of the Messengers and the Prophets who initiated their call with Tawheed (Oneness of Allah’s worship) and correction of Aqeedah, and subsequently focusing upon the remaining commandments of the Deen (religion).”

This book comprehensively explains Tawheed in the words of Shaikh ibn Saleh al-Uthaimeen (rahimahullah) from the book, ‘Sharh Hadeeth Jibra’eel’.

Dajjal: The Judeo-Christian ‘Civilization’!

Dajjal: The Judeo-Christian ‘Civilization’!

Mohammad Bayazeed Khan Panni
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 150 | Size: 1 MB

Over the last thousand and four hundred years, the coming of the one-eyed giant, the Dajjal, has remained the topic of numerous discussions and debates in Moslem households all over the world. However, the actual understanding of this enigmatic phenomenon remains as elusive to us as it was to the Companions of the Messenger of Allah so many centuries ago. It all began when Mohammad (s.a.s), the final and the greatest Messenger of Allah, told about the arrival of a giant on earth during the later time (Akheri Zamana), an event he has referred to as the greatest ever in the life of mankind.

To give his people, his ‘Ummah’, both of his time and of the future, a better idea and understanding of this fearsome entity, he has described in great detail what it, the Dajjal, would look like, its activities in this world, what tremendous power it would yield over the world and the destiny of Man and he talked of its demand to be accepted as the lord or ‘rub’ of mankind. He has called this character the ‘Dajjal’, an Arabic word used to describe something or someone deceptive, something very attractive to look at, but is actually despicable a dazzling impostor. The Messenger of Allah has also said that this giant would have sight in one eye only, the other would be blind. Common sense tells us, it can be no living being, for its vehicle is to have one foot in the east and the other in the west, see and hear what is said in a whisper on the other side of the world, and so forth. Among the thousands of ‘Hadis’ or Hadis s attributed to the Messenger of Allah, those concerning the Dajjal occupy a position of great import and significance, deemed as it has been as the gravest danger to ever face mankind. The Hadis regarding the Dajjal are as thought provoking as they are frightening since they speak of a giant that will see with only one eye yet have the power to bring the whole world under its control and in so doing lead a great number of people astray. In one such Hadis, the Messenger of Allah has stated ‘From the Creation of Adam to the Judgment Day, there is no other event as grave and alarming the as the Dajjal.’1 He goes on to state that- ‘There has been no Messenger from the time of Noah (a.s.) who has not warned his followers about the Dajjal.’ 2 And to further stress on its importance, and as an after thought the Messenger of Allah himself sought refuge with Allah from the malaise of the Dajjal.3

So how concerned are we about the colossal import of a situation the Messenger has deemed as the gravest occurrence from the beginning to the end of time, about something all Messengers from the time of Noah (a.s.) have warned their followers about, regarding a matter our Messenger himself sought refuge from? It goes without saying that far from being concerned about it, we are yet to realize that the Dajjal’s birth took place 472 years ago, and having passed its infancy and childhood it is now an adult that has the entire world including its ‘Moslem’ population laying prostrate at its feet!

The reason for this ignorance remains the fact that during the last few centuries we were colonized by the European Christian forces, the method of education they imposed on us has been one that has taken us far away from the true faith of Eslam. The result of which has been that this nation can accurately recall how long it took Hannibal to cross the Alps with his army or recite without mistake from Shakespeare, but is totally in the dark as regards to what the Messenger of Allah has stressed to be the most important event in the history of this world. The small portion of this populace which is actively involved in the study of the Qur’an and the Hadis too have neglected it to oblivion. With their shortsighted and narrow vision, these people are waiting for the literal transformation of the Messenger’s prophecy where he informs of the emergence of a huge one-eyed giant astride a colossal mount and of its tyrannical rule. They have accepted these Hadis in their literal aspect only, neither spending their time nor their effort in trying to see beyond the mere words, to try and gauge why this should be the single most grave, influential and frightening event throughout the world’s history. These people devote far more time on details regarding wadu (ablution), meswak (cleaning teeth), kuluk (using sponge) and other trivial issues than they think about the Dajjal or its significance!

Like others, I too was waiting for a huge one-eyed giant and to hear its proclamation to be the lord and ruler of mankind!

However, the first time I realized that it would not be the case was when I read Muhammad Assad’s book “Road to Mecca”. Muhammad Assad was born as Leopold Weiss into an Austrian Jewish family and converted to Din-ul-Eslam in his youth. It is in this beautiful writing that he first hinted at the idea of the Western civilization being the Dajjal prophesied fourteen centuries ago by the last Messenger of Allah. However he has not elaborated on this issue. It was in the late 50′s or early 60′s that I read this book and from then onwards, the more I thought about it, the clearer it has become to me that his idea is indeed correct. For the Messenger of Allah to give the mostly illiterate Arabs of fourteen hundred years ago a correct and comprehensive picture of a civilization based on today’s technological advancement was next to impossible. Therefore, he did so through a series of allegorical references which exactly match the description of the western civilization of our time.

Everything we know about the Dajjal is derived from the Messenger’s ‘Hadis’ or tradition i.e. words or actions of the Messenger himself, also action of others, he approved or disapproved of. As we all know, Hadis are classified into several groups, among which three are prominent, namely the ‘sahih’ or correct; ‘hassan’ which are also true but not as accurately related as the former and thirdly ‘daif’ or weak, poor Hadis s, some of which are nevertheless accepted when corroborated. Besides these, there are also ‘gharib’, ‘munkar’, ‘maruf’ etc. divisions. During the rigorous process of collecting and verifying true Hadis, many false statements earlier deemed as correct Hadis have been rejected, while some of the true ones have also been omitted due to the fact that they could not be unbrokenly traced back to the Messenger of Allah himself. In order to get a complete and comprehensive idea about any subject broached in the Hadis, it is necessary to study all Hadis regarding it, notwithstanding the fact whether they are accepted without any doubt or rejected outright. Similar has been my method in collecting all relevant data about the Dajjal; however the ones quoted here are almost all Sahih or correct Hadis and those remained the basic platform of this research.

I have categorized all Hadis regarding the Dajjal into two groups. One part containing predictions related to its importance and gravity, the other concerning its identification. From the first group of the Hadis we are able to derive why the emergence of Dajjal occupies a more important stance than the deluge of Nooh’s (a.s.) (Noah) time and why it is graver than the world wars. In the second group of Hadis the Messenger of Allah has related to us some definite signs through which we should be able to correctly identify the Dajjal as what it is and thus resist and reject the influence of the Dajjal. The almost complete lack of education and the total absence of technology could have prevented the people of the then Arabia in understanding the concept of the Dajjal, however, today, when almost every one of the allegories used to describe the Dajjal by the Messenger have been reflected in the mirror of the western society, how close are we in correctly interpreting and identifying it as the self-same “Masih-al-kazzab,” the Dajjal? Unfortunately far from resisting or rejecting it, we, the so- called Moslems of this world, have it in front of our very eyes and yet are not only unable to recognize it for its true self, but have accepted it as our lord, master and have submitted to it.

Let us start with the name, with which the Messenger has introduced us to it, the Dajjal- which is not actually a name, in the sense that it is more of a description than a proper name; like that of Emam Mahdi (a.s) who will have a separate personal name but is known to us as Al-Mahdi or ‘the rightly guided one’ who will appear in the later times to guide mankind to true Guidance, the right path. Similarly, the Dajjal is not a name in the proper sense as an adjective. The literal meaning of the word “Dajjal” is that of an attractive impostor, beautiful outside but dark and ugly inside, a cheat a deceiver and a liar. Is not this statement true of the technologically advanced western civilization which dazzles the beholder with fantastic achievements on the one hand yet due to its absolute detachment from God in their collective lives, society is rife with injustices, crimes and sins of every kind? This ‘civilization’ has been responsible for the deaths of 14 million human lives in course of the two world wars and another 20 million people in different wars and skirmishes ever since. The number of people disabled from these would be at least double of the dead; countless more have been displaced and rendered homeless. It does not end there- injustices and cruelty on a personal and collective level, murders, thefts, rapes, kidnappings go on unabated and it is for these that the western civilization is the dazzling, attractive impostor.

The Clear Qur’anic Exegesis

The Clear Qur’anic Exegesis

Muhammad Khayr Ramadan Yusuf
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 307 | Size: 2.5 MB

All praise is due to Allah Who revealed the Qur’an. Peace and blessings be upon the Prophet who was characterized by the morals that mentioned in the Qur’an, upon his family, his Companions who taught the Qur’an and upon those who followed them righteously of the nation of the Qur’an.

The Glorious Qur’an is a book of guidance, rulings, behaviors, `Aqidah (faith), admonish, stories, recommendations, lessons, good news and warnings. Allah has sent it down to be the seal of the divine Scriptures, a reference to the people, and a constitution for them in their affairs as long as they live. Despite the greatness of the Qur’an, its majesty and its perfect rulings, people have turned away from it except for a few. The attacks against the Qur’an were powerful and well-schemed by the enemies of Islam in order to distort the Muslims’ source of power; which almost happened. We ask Allah to gather us under the banner of truth, make us superior through our religion and give us victory over the disbelievers in order that the Qur’an would be the reference of rulings and the source of knowledge from which all people extract knowledge everywhere. It is the miraculous speech of Allah which no one can innovate something of the like or even part of it. It came to us successively from narrators and reporters who could never tell a lie. It was written down in sheets as it was preserved in the memories of people. When the Qur’an was revealed to Muhammad (peace be upon him), Allah took the responsibility of preserving it; not as the previous Scriptures.

Allah (Glory be to Him) says:

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ ۥ لَحَـٰفِظُونَ

Verily, We, it is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur’ân) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption). [Al Hijr: 9].

There are many sciences related to the Qur’an which scholars have studied and written many books about such as the reasons of revelation, the connections between the Ayahs, Tafsir, similarities, precise and allegorical Ayahs, Surahs that were revealed in Makkah and those of Madinah, weird words, rulings, recitations, Tajwid (art of Qur’anic recitation), grammar and parsing, calligraphy, record, virtues, proprieties of recitation, examples, stories, abrogating and abrogated texts; and miraculousness with all its types. The Qur’anic exegesis is covetable and advisable.

Allah (Glory be to Him) says:

كِتَـٰبٌ أَنزَلۡنَـٰهُ إِلَيۡكَ مُبَـٰرَكٌ۬ لِّيَدَّبَّرُوٓاْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُوْلُواْ ٱلۡأَلۡبَـٰبِ

(This is) a Book (the Qur’ân) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings, that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember. [Sad: 29].

Allah (He may be Glorified) says:

أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ‌ۚ

Do they not then consider the Qur’ân carefully? [Al Nisa’: 82].

We can not reflect on Ayahs (Qur’anic verses) but after understanding it. All these Ayahs can not be understood except after studying Tafsir. Allah vituperated the people of the Scriptures because they had concealed knowledge and did not explain it to the people.

Allah (Glory be to Him) says:

(And remember) when Allâh took a covenant from those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) to make it (the news of the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW and the religious knowledge) known and clear to mankind, and not to hide it, but they threw it away behind their backs, and purchased with it some miserable gain! And indeed worst is that which they bought. [Al `Imran: 187]. Therefore, we should not be like them, otherwise, our destiny will be like theirs.

Commentators of the Qur’an have adopted many ways of Tafsir. They say, truly, the best way to explain the Qur’an is to explain it by the Qur’an itself because its Ayahs confirm and explain one another. The second approach is to explain it with the Sunnah which is the best explanation to the Qur’an. The third approach is to explain it through the sayings of the Companions because they are the students of the Prophet (peace be upon him) to whom the Qur’an was revealed while he is amongst them. The fourth approach is to explain it with the sayings of the Followers who came after the Companions because they are the most knowledgeable with the sayings of the Companions and were the best generation after them.

Some commentators have included the sciences which they master in explaining the Qur’an and all of which is good. There emerged, in the modern age, some Tafsir books which contain new interests and specialties that were not known before.

I invoked Allah to make me one of those who have interest in His Book by His Grace and I ask him to guide me to Him. As a result, I started to explain the Qur’an in the way which the reader sees. So, it is a bounty and favor from Allah, for Him is all praise and gratitude.

In many of my writings, I address the Muslim laymen with ordinary tone so as not to lose them for they are the people, the voice, the power and sentiment of this nation. If every specialist write in his specialty with his own style, jargon and complex style, they will not benefit the people and the people will not read what their writings. Therefore, neglecting laymen would be catastrophic to the society and its bad consequences would be noticeable after a while. They, as we see them now, are heading to writings and informational media that fits their levels despite their defects; so many of them ran away and were lost or almost to be lost.

Thus, this book of Tafsir was written according to the approach I mentioned. I wanted to make it easy for the ordinary reader to give the meaning and the concept for each Ayah separately and that is called the analytic method. In which a reader can understand the meaning of the Ayahs and their significance without giving details or being concise with special care for the word, structures and style to promote the language and the culture of the reader.

I have concentrated on the expressional side which establishes the meaning and reaches to the heart and mind. In order to achieve this, I used the proper educational and preaching style.

I did not touch upon the grammatical, rhetorical, theologian aspects, many of the commentators’ details, specialties or even many quotations and margins. I only mentioned the commentaries related directly to the Ayah without excluding the odd or referring to non-contextual meanings. That is enough and more useful for the ordinary reader or those who want to embrace Islam and understand the meaning of the Qur’an, its significance and the precise meanings of those Ayahs. That means: What are the objectives which Allah wants His Servants to fulfill throughout this noble Book. So, this book, “Al Tafsir Al Wadih” was made to benefit as much people as possible.

What is meant by the ordinary educated people is everyone who did not study the sciences of Shari`ah even if they got the highest degrees in any science and the highest certificates in any field other than the field of Shari`ah and its sciences. By this, they need to know a new branch of knowledge or to get deeper in the sciences which they had studied through the knowledge of the Glorious Qur’an.

This book is also for non-Muslims who want to know the significance of Islam as well as those who want to embrace Islam whether they know Arabic by nature or this book has been translated to him.

The most important thing is that it was made as a clear Tafsir to be understood by all classes of the community, the educated and non-educated, if they want to understand the whole meaning without details. The thing which encouraged me to compose such a book is the presence of so many Tafsir books that helped me a lot. I relied on many of them but their most important are: “Tafsir Al Qur’an Al `Azhim” of Ibn Kathir which was the first Tafsir I relied on and of which I benefited a lot, “M`alim Al Tanzil” of Al Baghawy, “Rawh Al M`any Fi Tafsir Al Qur’an Al `Azhim wa As-Sab` Al Mathany” of Mahmoud Al Alusy and “Fi Zhilal Al Qur’an” of Sayyid Qutb.

I also relied on many other Tafsir books from which I may convey some commentaries if they are in conformity with the style I adopted or being appropriate to the text. The only important thing is to convey the intended meaning with suitable words and structures provided that there should be no barrier to do so.

I may only mention the meaning of the Ayah or write in some length according to what is appropriate. Those who need more details, may refer to more detailed Tafsir books.

I may select one or more commentary of Tafsir or add two similar meanings when the correct meaning is not clear to me.

I have never interpreted an Ayah but after referring to more than one Tafsir book in order to know the meaning. I do not feel comfortable about what I wrote but after I know that the Ayah is completely clear to the reader. If the commentators keep silent about something and did not explain it, I follow their example but that happened rarely in this book. If their views are controversial, I would mention the exact wordings of the Qur’an or something close to it out of fear to misinterpret the Ayah; this is also few.

I gave much care for the abrogating and the abrogated texts, the reasons of revelation, when necessary, some of the benefits and virtues of Surahs and Ayahs and something of the scientific miraculousness of the Qur’an. I only quoted the good and authentic Hadiths as well as the authentic narrations reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) which are few.

The commentary was quoted in the same manner of the pronouns reported in the Ayahs because it is sincerer, closer to the hearts, more effective and diversified in the Qur’an. It draws the attentions, directs away boredom and increases follow-up and excitement.

Some parts of this Tafsir were published on the world wide web, but the most reliable is what has been published in this book.

I invoked Allah to guide and grant me success every time I write a part of this Tafsir. I used to seek refuge with Allah (He may be Glorified) against explaining it away from the intended meaning.

I supplicate Allah (may He be Exalted) to forgive my mistakes and negligence, to accept it purely for His Sake and make the people accept and love it; for He is the All-Listening, All-Knowing.

Preventive Measures Against Shaytan And Authentic Ruqyah According To The Shari’ah

Preventive Measures Against Shaytan And Authentic Ruqyah According To The Shari’ah

Mustafa Ibn Al-Adawi
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 98 | Size: 3 MB

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful

Indeed It is only Satan that suggests to you the fear of his helpers, so fear them not, but fear Me, if you are (true) believers. {Surah Al-’Imran 3:175}

It is the battle with Iblees, may Allah curse him and his party that has been the principal battle since the time the enemy of Allaah resolved to pursue Aadam and his offspring in all situations and at all times, coming to him from all directions and following him every minute, as Allaah The Lord of all Creation informed us: (Ibless) said: Allow me respite until the Day they raised up. Allaah said: You are of those given respite. (Iblees) said: because You have sent me astray I will sit against the (mankind) on Your Straight Path. Then I will come to them from in front of them and behind them, for their right and their left, and You will not find most of them thankful to You.

Ash-Shaytaan this announced this struggle as a fierce, murderous war, springing from his evil nature, arrogance and rancor toward mankind. He has sought the permission of Allaah to fight, and Allaah has granted His permission for a wisdom He knows. Thus ash-Shaytaan has come forth executing and deriding His slaves.

However, Allah has not left mankind devoid of any equipment, for he has given them Imam that which is a shield, remembrance of him (dhikr) as preparation and the seeking of protection of him (al-isti adhah) as a weapon. Allah has exposed the steps and methods taken by shaytan, so that if a person neglects his shield and weapon and falls short in recognizing the plots and plans of his enemy, then his enemy will have power over him – and there is no ability or power except from Allah. If the servant of Allah gives permission to his enemy, opens the door to his house for him, admits him therein and allows him to brandish the weapon on to fight with then he is alone to blame, and he should not blame anyone but himself. Truly it is by permission of Allan that a person once stated: ‘Die in grief, for you have no excuse’.

When Satan inflicts a person with his touch it is blinding, and it obstructs the vision, but fear of Allah along with contemplation and submission to Him enables the heart to become connected with Allah. This state arouses the heart from neglecting His guidance so that those with taqwa remember, and when they make remembrance of Allah their vision is opened and covering is removed so that they become clear sighted.

I therefore sought the guidance of Allaah in gathering the “Islamic equipment” that will overcome Shaytaan and his party. The result was this treatise, in which I have explained the Divine warning against the Shaytaan’s deception. I ask Allaah that it be a protection for the Believers against the plots of Shaytaan and the deceptions of Iblees. I hope from any earnestly concerned brother that if he sees any mistakes or shortcomings in this book he will advise me, for indeed Allah has made sincere advise an act of worship for he who, intention is pure.
